About Tina
I spent my youth taking part in many sports, from running and cycling to gymnastics and ice skating. In my mid-20s I discovered ashtanga yoga and, as any serious ashtangi, I focused purely on yoga and stopped running and the gym for few years. I loved it. I was up at 6am every morning to go to my early morning class with one of the world’s top teachers, Michaela Clarke. I spent some time in India studying yoga intensively and I attended various workshops with leading teachers such as John Scott. I also spent a year learning from William Holtby, one of the best teachers I’ve ever come across, in Thailand.
After moving to Dublin I felt I needed a change so I took up running again. I used to run quite a bit and apart from cross country running, I never particularly enjoyed it but did it anyway because it’s great exercise. When I started running again, I decided to take what I’ve learned from yoga and use it in running. Possibly the best thing yoga teaches you is awareness of your body and your breath as well as living in the moment and accepting yourself, your body and its limitations as it is today. With this awareness, together with certain breathing techniques, and yoga postures, I found that, to my amazement, I loved running from day one.
I have since qualified as a Personal Trainer with ISSA and I’m hoping to study fitness therapy in the future and would also like to qualify as a yoga teacher one day. I am married and had a baby girl, Yasmin, in November 2010. Today, I combine running with yoga, I go to the gym and stay active by cycling a lot.
About Run with Tina
Run with Tina started in the spring of 2009. I was unable to find a new job in marketing and told a new friend that I was considering re-training as a personal trainer. My friend asked me to help her start running so I created a gentle programme for her and we started meeting up regularly. We had a great time and very soon more girls wanted to join us so I developed the programme into an 8 week Running Made Easy course and so it started… very soon word got around and I had a long waiting list and no longer even wanted a job in marketing!
Now, in spring 2011, we are expanding and taking on new instructors. All instructors are fully qualified and insured fitness instructors and enthusiastic about running. We all take a gentle approach and work hard to create a friendly, encouraging and fun atmosphere in our classes.

Hi Emma
I tried to email you information, but the email just bounced back…
If you send me an email to tina@runwithtina.com I’ll email you more info back.
Thanks
HI Tina
was just wondering if you have any plans for a slightly later time in the evening as 6.30 would be just that little bit early for me to make it without involving babysitters etc (more cost!). Also would I be too ‘old’ for your group, Im 43 and probably reasonably fit but defnitely about a stone overweight! Many thanks & regards
Hi Catherine, at the moment all the courses start at 6.30pm but I’m thinking of starting a later class in the summer, once it gets a bit lighter again. You’re certainly not too old! I’ve got your email address so I’ll put you on my mailing list and let you know if/when I start later classes.
would be very interested in your running class for beginners. Can you send me more info about where you hold your running club. Living in west dublin. Thanks Colleen
dear Tina,
I have just recovered from a medial meniscus knee injury and have completed my physio and need to start running again…having great difficulty with this and need some help.
am in need of private training maybe twice a week, at 6.30am, i live in Ballinteer.
can you help me???
Hi Naseema
unfortunately, at the moment I don’t have any early morning slots available. If you drop me an email (tina@runwithtina.com), I might be able to fit you on one of my new evening courses that start in April. It would be good if you checked with your doctor/physio first that they’re happy for you to start running.
Hi there, I am very interested in starting the begginers course however I am around the Dublin 12 area, will you be starting a course anyway near there in the near future? I could probably round up a few recruits if numbers was an issue
